"Carrie" was the daughter of James Pierce and Mary Barrett. In December 1849 she married Alexander Edward Singleton and they had (at least) four children, but two of them died when they were children. Carrie died when she was almost 80 years old. She died in Alabama, but was buried in Georgia.

No marker with her name has been found. (The unmarked grave with a weathered slab, right next to her husband, is very likely Carrie's grave.)
