Jean VanDeVoorde, 74, of Coal Valley, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with the Rev. Timothy Snart officiating. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial is at Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, where she was a member, or to Hope Creek Care Center, which gave her such wonderful care.

The former Mable Jean Lundquist was born April 26, 1937, in Lynn Center, the daughter of Harry Walter and Leota Roach Lundquist. She married Marvin Goff in 1955, and then married Fran VanDeVoorde in 1968.

Jean was a beautician for more than 30 years. She owned and operated Jean's Beauty Shop in Coal Valley, retiring in 1985. She loved music, dancing and singing.

Jean is survived by three children, Duane Goff, Rock Island, Darrell Goff and his wife, Pam, Hampton, and Julie VanDeVoorde, St. Louis, Mo.; siblings, Phyllis Akers and her husband, Roy, Coal Valley, Doris VanDaele, Colona, Carol McCall, East Moline, Betty Porter, Galesburg, and James Lundquist and his wife, Rosann, Saint Paris, Ohio; a grandson, Joey Goff and his wife, Tiffany, Milan; special friend, Betty Allen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry Lundquist; and a great-grandson, Joshua Goff.
