Felicia Coffman Harris (1922 - 2012)

Felicia Coffman Harris, 89, of Arlington passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012. Memorial service: A private service will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at Moore Funeral Home.

Felicia was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Fort Worth to Rhe Harper and John Richard Coffman. She attended West Texas State and the University of Texas. She worked as a secretary for several years in the Dallas area and then chose to become a homemaker. She raised her two children and helped to raise three of her grandchildren. In 1954 she met and soon married William B. Harris. Felicia was a charter member of the Arlington Woman's Club, where she enjoyed traveling and being a member of its Antique Department. Some of Felicia's passions included antiquing, shopping and collecting various items, but especially dolls. She was an avid watcher of "Antique Road Show" and "The Young and the Restless." She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of decorating for the holidays, her interest in genealogy and her support of the Republican Party. Felicia was known as "Granny" by her grandchildren and many of their friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Byron Harris, and her beloved sister, Dixie Coffman.

Survivors: Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Harris and wife, Valarie, of Placentia, Calif.; daughter, Dixie Simmons of Arlington; grandchildren, Tisha Brown and husband, Chris, of Waco, Angela Stone and husband, Jeff, of Rowlett, Logan Simmons and wife, Emily, of Arlington and Victoria Harris of Placentia, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Olivia Stone and Luke Simmons; sisters, Rhe Holder of Wichita Falls and Dorothy Messenger of Edmond, Okla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
