Funeral services will be held in the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. for Lucille Alice Gwin, 77, of Taft. The Rev. Arthur Catterall, pastor of the First United Methodist Church will officiate at the services and burial will follow in the West Side District Cemetery. Mrs. Gwin was born in Higgins, Texas on Aug. 4, 1908 and passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on Saturday morning. She moved to Fellows in 1923 and has lived on the West Side since. She married her husband, C. Earl Gwin, over 54 years ago in Bakersfield. Mrs. Gwin was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taft, The Daughters of the Nile in Bakersfield, the Taft Chapter No. 323 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Deseretts of Taft. Her survivors include her husband, C. Earl Gwin of Taft; her daughter, Alice Manalo of Long Beach; her brother, Harold J. Peugh of Spokane, Washington; and her two grandsons, Gary Copeland of Denver, Colorado and Wayne Hensley of Bakersfield. Friends may call at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday until 8:30 p.m. to pay their respects.
