Gary Lee Jeffers, age 18, of the Fairview Community, died February 4, 1995, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. He was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, July 24, 1976. He was the son of Gary Dean Jeffers and Charlotte Ann Boshears Shelton.

He was preceded in death by his half brother, Tomas William Jeffers. He was a football player in high school and graduated from Scott High School with the Class of 1994. He was a student at Roane State Community College and a member of the Mill Branch Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother Charlotte Ann Boshears and husband, Roderick, his father, Gary Dean Jeffers and wife, Cheryl, all of Huntsville; one sister, Menica Ann Jeffers; two half-sisters, Jennifer Kathleen Shelton and Tara Lynn Jeffers, all of the Capitol Hill community; one stepsister, Angela Renee Messer of Indiana; grandparents, Junior and Jennifer Jeffers, also of Fairview; special cousins, Tosha Renee Boshears, Ashley Nicole Boshears, Justin Eweul Boshears, and Eric Daniel Boshears, aunts and uncles: Donna and Danny Boshears, Debbie and Dennis Boshears and Tammy Boshears; one special great aunt, Judy Smith; great-grandparents, Nora Boshears of Fairview, Florence Boshears of Jacksboro and Ruth Crowley of Winona, and many other special relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted February 7, 1995, at the Mill Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Terry and Rev. Tony Zachary officiating. Debbie Terry sang. Burial followed in the Fairview Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Chad Hatfield, Randy Hullinger, David Mason, Robert Heath, Joey Hutson and Ricky Sexton. Honorary pallbearers were Doyle Lowe, Robert Heath and Tommy Mason.
