Elizabeth, dau. of Mr. & Mrs. Bernard Werdell, born in Joliet, IL, on March 17, 1862. As a small child she moved with her parents to Oelwein and then to Worthington. On Jan. 25, 1887 in St. Paul's Church with Rev. J. B. Zigrang officiating, she married Theodore Ament. The couple settled on a farm and became parents of 12 children: Rev. E. P. Ament; Veronica (Mrs. John Pins); Clara (Mrs. Frank Baum); Albert; Ben; Leo; Herman; Lester; Frederick; Josephine; Arthur; and Leonard.
