OBITUARY.
Died, at his late residence, near Winchester, on the 11th inst., Wm. M. Gardiner, aged 53 years 10 months. He was born in Ky., May 12, [1725. typo] When about 4 years of age his parents moved to Ralls county, Mo. Two years aferwards they moved to Pike county, thence to Clay county. On the 17th of Dec. 1846, he was married to Miss Susan Tipton, who bore to him six sons and five daughters. One son and one daughter preceded him across the dark river. He united himself with the Church of Christ in 1845, from which time until he was called to rest, he was a faithful and efficient worker in the cause of his master. In 1855 he moved to Jefferson county, Kansas, and opened a farm near Winchester, on which he remained till his death. A large concourse of his neighbors and friends convened to pay the last tribute of respect to his remains. Elder P. K. Dibble preached his funeral from the words of Paul in 1st Thess. 4th chapter.
