MOVIE THEATER MANAGER DIES March 1, 1990
Clifton Tanner Hill, 66, of Box 181, Bramwell, died Thursday at a Bluefield Hospital.
Born at Bramwell, he was a son of the late Jesse F. Hill and Maude McBride Hill.
A lifelong resident of Bramwell, he was a member of Bramwell Prsbyterian Church and a graduate of Bramwell High School, and took correspondence courses in refrigeration and business. He was a Marine veteran of WWII and the Korean War, serving in duty patrol in Washington and the South Pacific, and was stationed on the U.S.S. Yorktown aircraft carrier. He was a member of the Black Rock VFW Post of Bramwell.
He was employed by Manos Enterprises as manager of Blue Pirnce Cinemas and Cinema V at the Mercer Mall.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Boyd.
Survivors: wife, Eva Yon Hill; son, Steve (Barbara) Hill of Charleston, daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Chris) Eller of Bramwell; brothers, Hugh Hill of Ghanna, Oh., and Lindy Hill of Richmond, Va; sisters, Mrs. Harry (Louise) Goodson of Bluefield, Mrs. Mamie Bailey and Mrs. Robert (Frances) Eller and Mrs. Donald (Ennice) Allen, all of Bramwell, Mrs. Leonard (June) Bailey of Route 3, Bluefield; grandson; Matthew Hill of Charleston.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cravens Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Rick Bourne and the Rev. Acie Bryant officiating and burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park at Bluewell.
Sandy river District American Legion VFW Post No. 175 of Bradshaw will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call today from 6 to 9 p.m at the funeral home.
