Grandin - Mrs. William Dowman (Mattie Delia King) Gornto, age 70, died at her home in Grandin, Thursday evening, December 10, 1942, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Grahamville, Fla., and came to Putnam County from Marion County when she was 20 years of age. From that time she has resided in this county. Besides her husband, Mr. W. D. Gornto, she is survived by six sons; Raymond Gornto, Palatka; Raiford Gornto, Florahome; William Dowman Gornto, Jr., Putnam Hall; Sidney Gornto, East Palatka; Herman Gornto, Venice; and Theodore Gornto, Grandin; two daughters, Olive and Alverta Gornto, Grandin; 18 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. M. O. Johnson, Welaka, and three brothers, Frank King, Ft. Meade; W. M. King, Welaka; and Charlie King, East Palatka. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Paran Cemetery, conducted by Rev.
