Mr. Comeaux passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 4:15 p.m. at his home in Opelousas after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Comeaux served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, then dedicated almost 65 years of his life working for Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Starting as an ambulance driver in 1945, he finished his career as a Funeral Director. He loved working with people during the most difficult times of their lives and it was said that he never met anyone he didn't like.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irene Guillory Comeaux of Opelousas, his daughters, Judy Comeaux Beard of Melville and JoAnn Comeaux Bozeman and husband Guy Bozeman of Washington, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care of Opelousas including Drs. Burnell, Harmon, and Montoya as well as all the staff that assisted Mr. Comeaux in the latter days of his life. Their dedication to his care and comfort are gratefully appreciated. The family wishes to especially thank Ms. Lou Fuselier, RN for the support to our Mother and the care that she gave to our dear Father.
