George I. Hartman, 78, passed away Monday, May 16, 2005 at St. Ann's Hospital. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and the I.O.F. George was a WWII and Korean Conflict United States Air Force veteran. He retired from Lucent Technologies and was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. Survived by loving wife of 56 years, Mary; daughters, Mary Lou Perdue and Karen (Daniel) Gierhart; grandchildren, Aaron (Rachel) Conley and Brittany Hood; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Mikayla Conley; sisters, Harriet McCarty and Margaret McCormick. Preceded in death by parents Berman and Florence Hartman, sisters Sarah Hartman and Jane Yon, half-brother Donald Thomas. Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 18, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005. Pastor David Hunt officiating. Interment at Kingwood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 5862 Sinclair Road, Columbus, Oh 43229.
