Son of George Thomas Bridgers and Harriet Bridgers (Bridgers).

George married Daisy Jesse Bristow December 4, 1905 in Northampton Co., NC. George and Daisy had no known children, although there were some of his nephews and nieces living with them at various times and enumerated with them in some of the censuses. In the 1940 census there was a Gertie Bridgers, daughter, 18 & single enumerated with him and Daisy. It is unknown by this researcher who this individual was although there were no known children born to George & Daisy.

George was originally buried in his front yard - facing the house, his grave was on the right near the ditch and the edge of yard/field. His grave was moved from original burial location at his home on Bridgers Rd to an established cemetery located down a path on opposite side of Bridgers Rd from homesite.

Mother's Name: Harriett Bridgers

NOTE: There are questions regarding George's correct date of birth. Death certificate info indicated date of birth 18 May 1872 and grave marker has year of birth as 1869. He was enumerated in the 1880 census with parents as being 9 years old; he was 35 when he married in 1905; 39 in 1910 census; 49 in 1920 census; 57 in 1930 census & 67 in 1940 census.
Further to add to the confusion of his correct date of birth, the year of birth on the death certificate and tombstone must be incorrect for either George or his sister, Almeady. His dob is given as May 18, 1872 and hers is August 10, 1872. Don't think both of them would were born that close together. George's wife was the informant on his death certificate and George was the informant on the death certificate for his sister. Meadie B Futrell (BK 30 p 145) indicated she was 71 years old at the time of her death in 1943 and George T Bridgers (BK 31 p 117) was 73 at the time of his death in 1945. Since Almeady was listed as being 2 years old in the 1870 census, her year of birth was probably 1867/68 and her death certificate is incorrect. George was not enumerated in censuses until 1880. Confusion!!!
