Pfc. John Ervin Anderson, Jr., was the son of John Ervin (1894-1983) & Nora Vera English (1900-1983) Anderson of Carthage, TX. He attended Carthage High School. Ervin entered the Army on 16 March 1943, (Serial # 38475283) and trained at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. He served in France, Germany and Holland. Ervin was awarded the Purple Heart, 4 Battle Stars, and ETO ribbons. He was wounded in Holland in 1944 and killed in Germany 12 June 1945.
