Annie Mackey, wife of John Mackey, a native of Leitram, Ireland. Annie married John in 1861. She lived with her husband, at Rancho Del Paso thoroughbred breeding farm where he was the ranch's Superintendent for James Ben Ali Haggin. Rancho Del Paso is considered to be the biggest farm of its kind in the world at 44,000 thousand acres.

The couple had four children according to census reports. Annie Mackey died in Sacramento, 26 Feb 1911.
Survived by daughters: Mrs. Phillip Johnson, Miss Nellie V. Mackey, Sacramento; Mrs. James S. McGuire, San Francisco and Miss Margaret (Maggie) Mackey, New York.
