He was born December 7, 1930 in New Castle, IN., a son of the late Elmer and Cloda Bell Tarter Harmon.
He had resided in New Castle most of his life, was a 1950 graduate of New Castle High School, and was an Army Veteran of Korean War. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by: one daughter; Donna Jean Mills (husband: Larry) of Anderson, IN., one son; Danny Gene Harmon of New Castle, IN., two grandchildren; Aaron Harmon of New Castle, Heather Johnson (husband: Kory) of New Orleans, LA., two great grandchildren; Trinity Harmon of New Castle, Konnor Johnson of New Orleans, LA., one sister; Irene Crone of New Castle, IN., three brother; Athel Harmon of New Castle, IN., Cecil Harmon of New Castle, IN., Omrie Harmon (wife: Geraldine) of New Castle, IN., also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, and two brothers; Arlen Harmon and Clyde Harmon.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday August 4, 2009 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home.
Services will be 1:30 Wednesday August 5, 2009 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home, with Rev. Lynn Furrow officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
