Marvin Smith, 77, of Alma died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in Alma.
He was born March 31, 1934, in Winslow.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzan Babcock.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Smith for 22 years, served in the Army for 22 years and was in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts and retired as a Sergeant 1st Class, received two commendation medals and was a member of Center Point Freewill Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.

Funeral Service will be 11:30 A.M. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.

He is survived by his wife, Corlene Smith of the home, a daughter, Lora Graves of Boaz, AL; two sons, Robert Smith of Fort Smith, AR and Scott Smith of Little Rock, AR; three sisters Melba Squires of Van Buren, AR, Jimmie Shelly of Van Buren, AR, and Nancy Parrish of German Town, TN; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
