Otho Opal TAYLOR was born in Rosston, AR to Herschel and Ethel MITCHELL TAYLOR. One brother, Orville Clay TAYLOR, and his parents preceded him in death.

Otho attended Magnolia A&M High School. Worked as salesman of shoes, clothing, furniture in Hope and Crossett, AR. Worked part time selling clothing at Men's Wearhouse in Humble, TX until late in life. At 86 after working one day a week for a while, he decided to "go ahead and retire." He enjoyed this so much we called it a "social outing" because he never met a stranger! Avid reader--especially of the Bible-- fisherman, vocal soloist. . . witty, cheerful. His grandchildren affectionately called him O.O.

Otho & Geneva were married in Emmet, AR and lived in Rosston, AR in 1930's before later moving to Hope, AR where they lived and worked until moving to Crossett, AR in 1951 and to Kingwood, TX in 1978.

Otho's last vocal solo was at age 75 at FBC in Humble--"The Longer I Serve Him, the Sweeter He Grows." The solo was followed by his personal testimony of committing his life to Christ at an earlier age. Bergie Anderson, a friend from FBC, sang the same song at Otho's funeral.
