Stacey Dawn Martin, 50, died September 8, 2011 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born August 3, 1961 at Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Don and Cherie (Nickell) Martin. A Great Bend resident for thirty years, coming from Dodge City, she was a phlebotomist at Central Kansas Medical Center.

She was of the Christian faith. She was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved all animals, and was also a foster parent.

Survivors include her father and step-mother, Don and Maxine Martin, California; mother, Cherie Phillips, Great Bend; companion, Larry Nodine, Great Bend; brother-in-law, Bob Shimp, Mohnton, Pennsylvania; two nephews: Kai Shimp and Wyatt Shimp, Mohnton; and niece, Torrey Shimp, Mohnton. She was preceded in death by her beloved step-father, Jerry Phillips; maternal grandparents, Virdie and Doris Nickell; paternal grandparents, Verle and Geneva Jarvis; one sister, Michelle Shimp; and cousin, Rod Nickell.

Celebration of life service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home with Chuck Carpenter officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to Barton County Relay for Life, in care of the funeral home.
