William Frank "Bill" Thompson, 63, of Spotsylvania County died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at his residence.

He had retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years, having served during the Vietnam War, and from the U.S. Postal Service with 23 years of service at the Fredericksburg Post Office. He was a member of Fredericksburg Full Gospel Church, Loyal Order of the Moose Fredericksburg Lodge No. 1655 and Fredericksburg Order of the Eagles Lodge No. 4123.

Survivors include his wife, Muriel D. Thompson; six sons, Jonathan Thompson and Ryan Thompson, Alvin Michniewicz and his wife, Sharyn, William Thompson and his wife, Tammy, Bobby Thompson and his wife, Rhonda, and Billy Thompson ; one daughter, Susan Blezins and her husband, Matt,; three sisters, Mary Nations and Loraine Norton and Judy Harris ; one brother, Tom Thompson ; 12 grandchildren; special brothers-in-law Robert Gallahan Sr. and Sidney Randall; and special sisters-in-law Gerelene Randall and Mary Gallahan.
