WATER TAXI ACCIDENT VICTIM:
JoAnn was killed when the Seaport Taxi pontoon boat she and her daugther Lisa, also killed, were passangers aboard capsized and overturned in Baltimore's Inner Harbor during a powerful wind gust.

She and her husband, of 37 years, Thomas lived for the past 34 years in Vineland, NJ. She is also survived by daughter Kathleen (Stephen) Cejkovsky and two grandchildren, Kayla and Emily Cejkovsky of Sewell, NJ.; two brothers, George and Michael Fitzgerald, both of Hudson Falls; and a sister, Mary Davis of Glen Falls, NY.

JoAnn was a 1962 graduate of the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing. She worked for 26 years at the South Jersey Medical Systems/Newcomb Division, retiring as the director of maternal and children's health and arrival. Mrs. Pierce worked for the last two and a half years as the office manager at Pediatric Associates in Vineland.

JoAnn enjoyed traveling,camping and fishing, going to plays, shopping and playing cards. Most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family.

A Funeral Mass for both JoAnn and Lisa was held at the Sacred Heart Church, Vineland.
