CUERO - Alfred E. Marquis, 81, of 117 E. Newman St., died at 8 p.m. Thursday in a local hospital.
A retired accountant, Mr. Marquis was born Sept. 30, 1894, in New Fountain, Tex. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Marquis.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Freund Funeral Home.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Althea Schrade Marquis of Cuero; a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Antoinette Varady of Houston; a son, Paul Alfred Marquis of Amarillo; two brothers, Herbert Marquis of Cuero and Walter M. Marquis of El Paso; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
