One of the last 8 remaining mummified corpses inside the "Bleikeller". During his lifetime he was a lawyer and chancellor for the duchies of Verden and Bremen. After his death the body was laid to rest in a stone sarcophagus inside the "Erskinschen Gruft" underneath the church. That crypt was filled in with dirt in 1802, and the bodies of his wife and his own had to be moved. Due to an edict by Napoleon, that prohibited new burials inside inner city churches at that point, townspeople hid the bodies inside a secret basement chamber. This was not discovered until the 1960's. His now mummified body rests inside the "Lead Basement", the Bleikeller underneath the cathedral.
