Funeral services held Saturday for Mary M. Hostetler, 73

Mrs. Aaron (Mary) Hostetler, 73, died Wednesday morning, June 15, 1982 at Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kalona Mennonite Church, with the Revs. Howard Keim and Elton Nussbaum officiating. Burial was in the East Union Cemetery near Kalona. Peterseim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund for the Crowded Closet has been established.

Mrs. Hostetler was born October 7, 1908, in Johnson County, a daughter of Elmer and Lena Yoder Bontrager. She was raised in the Kalona area and married Aaron Hostetler September 7, 1930, in Johnson County.

She was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church and had been a volunteer worker at the Crowded Closet store since it was established.

Survivors include a son, Sanford Hostetler of Wellman; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Jessye) Westmoreland of Boones Mill, Virginia; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Harold Bontrager of Mount Pleasant, Monroe Bontrager of Keokuk and Robert Bontrager of Mount Pleasant.

Her husband and an infant grandson died earlier.
