Mrs. Smith passed away, Sunday, February 12, 2012. Born in the Gilbert Community of Pond Branch on August 17, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo Miles Bouknight and Lessie Pru Long Bouknight. She was a graduate of Gilbert High School, a member of Pompano Beach Baptist Church and was a retired produce packager/inspector. She and her late husband, Corman Cecil Smith resided in Pompano Beach, FL and raised two children after their marriage on December 6, 1945.
Surviving are her son, Larry C. (Marianne) Smith of Gilbert; daughter, Joan S. (Carl W.) Taylor of Leesville; sister, Gladys McCartha of Pompano Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren, Rodney Smith, Tracy (Jason) Welch, Jason Smith, Scott Taylor and Martha Ann (Billy) Lake, and 9 great-grandchildren, all of Gilbert and Leesville.
She was predeceased by her husband, Corman Cecil Smith and a brother, Julius A. Bouknight.
