In the 1900 U.S. Census, farm laborer Salem H. Hill, 50, born March, 1850 in Maine, father born Maine, mother born England, was living in Calais, Maine with Wilhemina, 35, born September 1864 in Canada, parents born Canada; dressmaker Cora A., 20, born May, 1880; farm laborer Harry S., 18, born March, 1882; Lily Mary, 11, born Feb., 1889; and Edith S., 9, born June 1890, all in Maine.
The Hills and been married 13 years and two of their three children were still alive.
