Alderman Frank Theodore Herring, 59, of Plymouth, passed away suddenly at his home early this morning. Coroner Wesley Van Zanten pronounced death the result of a heart attack. Alderman Herrling had attended a meeting of the Plymouth city council Tuesday evening, and his physical condition was reported as seeming normal at the time death occurred.
Mr. Herrling, an employe of the Sheboygan County highway department for 30 years, had served as alderman from Plymouth's first ward continuously since 1942 and was starting his fourth term. He was born at St. Cloud Dec. 10, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Herrling. He was married to Miss Josie Mayhew in Greenbush December 27, 1899 and the couple made their home in Greenbush until 1917 when they moved to the present residence at 316 Plymouth Street, Plymouth. Mr. Herrling was a member of Cassia Lodge No. 167, F&AM, and a member of Hub City Aerie No 1312 FOE.
Survivors are two sons, Ross E, of Beaver Dam, and Frank G. at home, one brother, Otto of Greenbush, five sisters, Miss Lena, Miss Antoinette, and Mrs. Alfred Herges of Greenbush, Mrs. William Oberreich of Plymouth and Mrs. Albert Knowles of the town of Greenbush; and five grandchildren. His wife passed away in 1942. One son, Rudolph, one brother, and a sister also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Wittkopp Funeral home in Plymouth and Masonic services will be conducted by Cassia Lodge. Burial will be in the Greenbush cemetery.
