Ralph Lewis Laukhuff of Memphis, a founder and vice president of a stained- glass company that originally opened in 1961, died Wednesday at his home. He was 74. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Lutheran Church with burial in Elmwood. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. In 1961, Laukhuff and his wife, Mickey Laukhuff, founded Laukhuff Stained Glass Inc. They sold the firm in 1987 and retired. Last year, the Laukhuffs opened Mickey & Ralph Stained Glass Inc., with Laukhuff as vice president and Mickey Laukhuff as president. The firm is famous for stained-glass work throughout the world. Laukhuff was a member of Chickasaw Country Club, Memphi, Memphis Brooks Museum of Art Inc., Dixon Gallery & Gardens, Memphis Pink Palace Museum and Planetarium, English Speaking Union and the Memphis Symphony. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He also leaves a son, Ralph Lewis Laukhuff Jr. of Vidalia, La.; his mother, Cinderella Lang, and a brother, Fred Laukhuff Jr., both of Cincinnati, Ohio, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
