Jean L. Brosius, Sunbury, PA
Jean L. (Pick) Brosius, 80 of 842 Edison Avenue passed away at 4:42 PM, Friday, February 10, 2012 in Geisinger Medical Center with family and friends at her bedside.

Born June 3, 1931 in Sunbury, PA, Jean was the daughter of the late Luther G. and Mabel A. (Saxton) Pick.

Jean was a Sunbury "Owl" High School business major and graduate of the Class of 1949, "The 49'ers".

Athletic at an early age, Jean hit the basketball boards with agility and proficiency. In her youth, she developed the technique of a skilled pianist.

Enjoying activities of the outdoors was a "natural high" for Jean. Activities of roller and ice skating, sledding, biking, hiking, basketball, walking with her Dachshund, dancing, singing and music gave Jean a full and rich life. The enrichment of the mind, body and soul taken from these activities were instilled and enjoyed with her children. Music of every style and era filled the home. Driving an automatic was not an option for Jean. "What would I do with my other foot?" was the reply to many.

Jean's best friends were Peggy (Wynn) Chamberlain and Mary Kathryn Roush. Johnny's Roller Rink, Island Park was one of their favorite haunts. Jean would often remark, "We were skating fools! We would laugh and skate for hours!" Skaters of the time would travel far and wide to areas such as Harrisburg, York and Sunbury. Johnny's was destroyed by the 1972 flood.

Caketown, 5th Ward is where many would gather at the family home to share friendship, fun and laughter. Many loved and respected Jean. Her smile, infectious laughter, warmth, kindness, humorous wit, and lust for life would fill your heart with joy. "There are two types of friends in this world", she would say. Honest, sincere and trusting friends. Or, deceptive, cruel unhappy friends. Each selects their path in life and Karma will deliver Fate.

Jean provided and instilled the lessons of values, how to live a full independent life, appreciation of Nature, and to have faith in God. Keeping your heart forever young.

Jean received her Confirmation as member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Sunbury.

Jean was employed as an accountant for Kratzer American Oil and later joined and retired from Wil-Hold Mfg., both of Sunbury.

Jean is survived by her children: Donald C. Herb, wife Sylvia J., Julie A. Brosius, Todd A. Brosius, wife Kimberly E., Sunbury. Shari L. Snyder, husband, Kenneth P, Riverside, Cindy L. Lubold, Riverside. Grandchildren: Christopher C. Herb, wife Kelly, Mt Carmel, Corey C., wife Melissa, Michael T. Brosius, Sunbury area. Katherine L. Snyder, Riverside.
