Nancy Sue Smiley, 69, of Dawson Springs, died Thursday, June 29, 2010, at 6:45 p.m. at her home.

Born July 2, 1941, in Naomi, West Virginia, a daughter of the late R.C. Stills Sr. and Beulah Thomas Stills, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Dawson Springs, and earned an associate's degree from Madisonville Community College and was self-employed as a tax service provider. She had worked at People's Bank and First Federal Bank for many years.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Barnes; and a brother, Raymond Stills.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Steve Smiley; a daughter, Faith Smiley of Reidland; a daughter/granddaughter and husband, Megan and Tyler Allen of Cleveland, Ohio; a son and wife, Mark and Dianna Smiley of Dawson Springs; a granddaughter, Leah Smiley of Dawson Springs; and two sisters, Anna Lipford of Dawson Springs and Ursula Yvonne Nelson of Hanson.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Rogers officiating, assisted by the Rev. Sam Haulk.

Burial followed in Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Pallbearers were deacons at First Baptist Church, Bobby Scott, Richard Hatley, Bruce Sneed, Kent Dillington, Donnie Ford and Jon Blalock.
Honorary bearers were Jim Fox, Chris Smiley, Tommy Barnes, Barry Smiley and Roy Stills.

Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs was in charge of arrangements.
