Jolly Bob downs, 83, died suddenly at his home in Vinson, OK Thursday morning, November 25, 1993.

He was born in Vinson, OK on March 15, 1910 to John Robert and Pansy Downs.

He was married to Amy Lucille Trench on December 30, 1928 at Mangum, OK. Since 1945 they lived in the Vinson community where they farmed and ranched. During that time he managed the cotton gin at Vinson for eight years.

He was a member of the Vinson Baptist church and a deacon for many years. He was a lifetime member of the 4-H and FFA.

Survivors include one daughter, Doris Stallings of Wellington; two sons, Jim Downs of Amarillo and Bob Downs of Briscoe; three sisters, Ruby Overton, Vinson, OK; Myrtle Yarbrough, Wellington and Dee Francis of Pampa; one granddaughter and four grandsons.
