In 1930 she and her husband lived in a house they were renting for $30 a month at 224 South Hydraulic Avenue in Wichita, KS. They did not have a radio. He worked as a feed grinder salesman.

In 1940 she and Herbert lived in an apartment they were renting for $36.50 a month at 835 Woodman Lane in Wichita. He worked as a secretary for a passenger transportation company. (Woodman Lane was near Central Avenue and Nims. Newer apartment complexes have been built in that area.)

In 1950 she and her husband lived in a house at 6424 Marquita Avenue in Dallas, TX. He worked as an assistant general manager for a bus transportation company.
