Athens Courier - May 13, 2010

The funeral for Odell W. Nixon Gardner, 79, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Gilbert Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyhill Cemetery of Limestone County.

Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

She died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Mrs. Gardner was born Oct. 11, 1930 in Limestone County to John D. Willett and Annie Bloodworth Willett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Valley View Church of Christ.

Survivors include sons, Donald Nixon and wife Kathy of Hixson, Tenn., Jackie Nixon, David Nixon and wife Christy, all of Athens; daughters, Joyce Ann Shelton and husband Brad of Scottsboro, Vickie Tucker and husband Jerry of Athens; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Nixon, Eric Tucker, Johnathon Nixon, B.J. Shelton, Brant Chapman and Tony Baugher.

Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Nixon and Brandon Pope.
