Lindsey Caffere Sexton, 68, of Rt. 3, Oneida, passed away suddenly Sunday morning, January 17, at his home. He was the son of the late William Sexton and the late Pruda Byrd Sexton and was also preceded in death by five brothers: Maynard, Glenn, Alfonzo, and Aaron Sexton, and two infant brothers.

He is survived by two sisters: May Thompson of Oneida, and June Lipscomb of Springfield, Ore.; five nieces: Donna Blair of Maryville, Carol Thomas of Oneida, Wanda Reed of Maryville, Janice Best of Ocala, Fla., and Beverly June Young of Robbins; two nephews: Maynard Randall Sexton of Ga. and Larry Dean Sexton of Pennsylvania; several great-nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James E. Marcum officiating. Harold Dean Ross, June Ross, and Kim Kidd sang. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Hoyal Carroll, Jimmy Marcum, Mike Marcum, Jessie Reed, David Sexton, and Randy Sexton. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. (Source: The Scott County News, 21 Jan 1982, p12)
