Jennie Rauwerdnk, 101, a former Oostburg area resident, died Friday morning at Heritage Nursing Center.
The former Jennie Faas was born Feb. 3, 1884, in the Town of Lima, a daughter of the late Edward and Berdina Meerdink Faas.
On March 6, 1907, she married Garret Rauwerdink in the Town of Lima. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1957. N He died Nov. 12, 1966.
She was a member of Gibbsville Reformed Church and its women’s Missionary Society, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Lila) Verhelst of Oostburg, and Mrs. Carlos (Audrey) Dickenson of Grant, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gibbsville Reformed Church. The Rev. Arnold Punt, pastor, will officiated. Burial will be in Hingham Cemetery.
Friends may call at Krostag-Huehns Funeral Home, Oostburg, after 4 p.m. Sunday and until 11 a.m. Monday, and at the church from noon until the time of services.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Rauwerdink’s name for the Pine Haven Christian Home, Sheboygan Falls.
