Anthony "Tony" Taszarek, 80, a 49-year resident of Warren, died Monday June 25, 2001 at Mount Clemens General Hospital. He was born June 1, 1921, in Woodward, PA.
Mr. Taszreak retired in 1982 as a sergeant in the Warren Police Department, where he worked for 30 years.
A World War II US Navy veteran, he was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 124, American Legion Post 4 in Mt. Clemens, Elks Lodge 2292 of Warren and Sterling Heights, St, Malachy Catholic Church and the AARP.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie Taszarek (nee Metzger); daughters, Nancy (Don) Priehs and Doreen (Mike) McGuire; and grandchildren, Stacy, Stephanie and Greg.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, with the REv. Joseph Gembala officiating.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Thursday
