Having lived in the county all his life, he had a host of friends to whom he was always loyal and true. He was a devoted husband and father, and to his family he gave all that he had of affection and care. He was also a loyal member of the Presbyterian Church. Every Sunday, unless providentially hindered, he was in his place in the choir. He was a true friend of his pastor and always stood with him in the work of the church. Dr. Brinson was a man of firm convictions and never afraid to stand by those convictions.
Born in Decatur Coutny, his father and mother were the late Simeon and Hattie Russell Brinson. He was born in Brinson on January 1, 1878, and had practiced medicine at Brinson for many years. In addition to his wife, the former Miss Lena Jones, Dr. Brinson is survived by four daughters and one son. His daughters are Mrs. Winthrop M. Munro of Montgomery, Ala., Mrs. J. J. Jones of Graceville, Florida, Mrs. C. C. Liddon of Graceville, Florida, and Mrs. W. M. Turner of Pelham, Ga. His son is Yeoman Homer Hodges Brinson, Jr. now stationed at Washington, D. C. with the U. S. Navy.
Funeral services were held at his residence at Brinson, conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. E. Ward, assisted by Rev. Mr. Vincent of the Methodist Church. Interment was in Brinson Cemetery.Active pallbearers were Paul Battle, Burson Bridges, Carlton Thomas, Lloyd Palmer, W. H. Miller, O. P. Eagerton, and F. E. Bridges.Honorary pallbearers included Dr. W. L. Wilkinson, Dr. R. F. Wheat, Dr. Gordon Chason, M. E. O'Neal, Frank S. Jones, A. B. Conger, L. A. Parker, D. K. Talbert, Leon Hodges, W. H. Hodges and D. W. Hodges.
