Married: Delilah Hughes in Tennessee, Elizabeth A. Loomis on 2 Nov. 1867 in Jay Co., IN.

An early settler of Bear Creek Township, Jay County, IN. He was a farmer, first Methodist class in Bear Creek Twp. was formed at his house and he was an associate judge in Jay County, IN 1837-1843 and 1850-51. He was the father of 14 children.

He was preceded in death by Dickson and Josiah Bowdon, buried at Bloomfield Cemetery. He was also preceded in death by a son, Enoch Bowdon, burial place unknown. At the time of his death he was survived by the following children: Mary Jane Sullivan, William Bowdon, Rebecka Ann Harris, Elza L. Bowdon, Raleigh Bowdon, James Bowdon, Ellen Chenoweth, Rhuey Ann Gunkle.

All the children of Enoch and Delilah Hughes Bowden were: Mary Jane, William, Martha, Richard, John, Rebecca Ann, Josiah, Enoch, Elzy, Ellen, Rheuy Ann, James, Dickson, and Raleigh.

His father was Josiah Bowdon from North Carolina. He served in the Revolutionary War.
