Lucrecia E Bishop was born at Martinsberg, N. Y., September 5th, 1845. In the fall of the same year her father moved with his family to Taycheedah, Wis., and was one of the pioneer families of that place. After acquiring her education in the schools of Taycheedah and Fond du Lac she taught in the public schools in Fond du Lac, Calumet and Sheboygan Counties for twenty-five years. She taught one term in the Greenbush village school building. On November 28, 1887 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Bricker of Greenbush and made her home on the farm west of the village until nine years ago when she moved to this village where she has since resided.
She died Tuesday morning, December 12th, 1916 after an illness of five months. She leaves a husband, and three step-children, James of Rhinelander, Mrs. Mary Gibson of Barton and Clyde of Park Falls.
She is the fifth in a family of ten children, three of whom survive her; a sister, Mrs. Lorinda C. Gibson of Taycheedah and two brothers, Lewis H. Bishop of Falxton, N. Dak., and Layfayette D. Bishop, of Buffalo, N. Dak. Besides being mourned by these she leaves many other relatives and a host of friends.
