The son of John Wagaman and Barbry Houser, Joshua's parents moved to Monroe County, Indiana in 1833.

Joshua married Margaret Stine on 14 Jun 1840 in Stinesville, Monroe County, Indiana. The ceremony was performed by a Lutheran pastor known as Reverend Eusebius Henkel.

After their marriage, Joshua and Margaret established a farm in Bean Blossom Township, but, after many years, moved to Green Township in Morgan County, Indiana in 1862.

Joshua and Margaret were the parents of 13 children.

Joshua died 4 days after his 89th birthday. The cause of death by given as "the debility of age." He was buried on 25 Jan 1899 and was survived by his wife, Margaret, who passed away in 1916.

Children: 10 sons, 3 daughters.

Martinsville, Ind., January 24.--Joshua Wagaman, eighty-nine years old last Thursday, is dead at his farm home near Cope, this county, of exhaustion. He was born in this part of the country and lived in this county forty years.
