MARCELINE "MARCY" JEWELL JOHNSON
LAMAR-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Konantz-Warden Funeral Home for Marceline "Marcy" Jewell Johnson, 83, Lamar, who died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Ministers Rob Wilson and Roger McKee will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are David Ison, Landon Ison, Chad Johnson, Bubby Heston, Sean Johanson, Ron Parrish, Mike Ditty and Pat Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Dwight Parks, Jr. Hammons, Bud Stilabower, Jim Rogers, Glen Seibel, Tom Reed, Bryan Jenkins, Bill Griffitt, Shawn Bean, Kevin Little and Bob Arnold.
Musical selections will be "Victory Medley", "You Raise Me Up", "One Day At A Time" and "If You Could See Me Now", with recorded vocalist Rick Johnson. Organist is Wally Norton.
Survivors include a son, Rick Johnson and wife Cyndy, Lamar; a daughter, Linda Johanson and husband Daryl, Lamar; six grandchildren, David Ison, Shana Ison, Landon Ison, Sean Johanson, Natalie Johnson and Chad Johnson and wife Rebekah, and five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Courtney, Carter, Drayton and Kyler Ison and Elliott Johnson.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Wesley Lewallen.
Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 23, 1928, in Randlett, Okla., to L.W. and Myrtle (Wilson) Lewallen. She graduated from Walters High School in Walters, Okla. She and her husband moved to Lamar in 1958, where they owned a telegraph business, a real estate business, ran the license bureau and worked as the rodeo headquarters.
She was a member of the Lamar First Christian Church. She was an active member of the Lamar B.P.W., a 30 year volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile, and was a member of the Wedding Band Class at the Lamar Christian Church. She was very active with organizing dinners for bereaved families at the church.
She married Bill Johnson on July 26, 1947, in Walters, Okla. He died Oct. 29, 1992.
