Gus served as a sailor during World War II in the capture of the U-505 upon the U.S.S. Jenks.
He was a proud member of the Chicago Fire Department for 42 years.
Gus was a hero on many levels from his nation to his loving family,
He was preceded in death by his parents August and Mae Bonow; his wife Agnes; brother Charles Bonow; sons Michael, Timothy and Lawrence Bonow.
Memorial Service in late spring at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
