VANDERGRIFF, CHARLES WAYNE - age 55 of Maynardville, peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2012, after he was unable to overcome his battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Wayne graduated from Halls High School in 1974 and retired from Bell South Phone Company after 32 dedicated years. Wayne was a loving and hardworking father, a caring son and brother, and generous friend to everyone. Wayne enjoyed being outdoors, camping, riding his tractor, working on projects and was an avid collector.

Wayne is survived by his loving daughter, Nikki Vandergriff; parents, Lula Welch Ellison and Charles T. Vandergriff; brother, David Vandergriff; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wayne is preceded in death by his brother, Harold Vandergriff. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Monday in the Halls Chapel of Mynatt Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Price officiating.

Family and friends will meet, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel and proceed to Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery for an interment at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. www.mynattfh.com.
