Sara Richardson Combs was the wife of Capt. Benjamin Combs, Revolutionary War officer who was an officer under Washington at the siege of Yorktown and surrender of Lord Cornwallis.
Sara and Capt. Benjamin are buried on the old Combs Farm on the Combs Ferry Road, about five miles southwest of Winchester [Clark Co, KY]. In 1933 the place belonged to Thad. W. Hampton; but the title to the graveyard is still in the Combs family.

Inscription

In memory of Sarah Richardson late wife of Captain Benjamin Combs. This stone is erected in gratitude for her motherly care while in infancy and for particular attention to the education of her youngest son Leslie Combs. Died 1816, Aged 66 years.
