Ted Clothier went to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Harrison. Ted was the son of Lela McCammon Clothier and Coniston Logan Clothier. He was born in Fair Valley, Oklahoma, on June 13, 1919, and later moved to Burlington, Oklahoma where he graduated from high school and met a special sophomore, Helen Meyer, who was to be his wife of 67 years.

Ted graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in chemical engineering and worked for Carter Oil Company and Exxon in the production research department for 38 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and son, Robert Meyer Clothier.

Ted was active in many Christian (Disciples of Christ) Churches in Tulsa, Okla., Houston, Texas and Harrison during his life. He was chairman of the church board, a choir member, elder and Sunday school teacher.

Ted's hobbies included woodworking, sculpting, bridge, photography, taxidermy, painting and fishing.

Before retiring in Harrison in 1980, Ted and Helen traveled abroad, including when Ted consulted for Exxon in Stavanger, Norway and Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.

He was a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow.

He is survived by his wife; his two daughters; two son-in-laws; three granddaughters and one grandson; three great-granddaughters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at First Christian Church in Harrison. Visitation will follow. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Floral Haven Cemetery, Garden of Devotions in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Hills in Harrison.
