Elizabeth M Alvey, 69, died Thursday at Regency Place South. She was a resident of Greenwood. She was born Jan 7, 1926 in Greenwood. Her parents were Mack Babbitt and Ethel (Hemphill) Babbitt. She married Thurman V Alvey on Jan 3, 1945. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Thurman V Alvey, II of Franklin. Micheal L Aley of Indianapolis; two daughters Judy Shutters of Jacksonville, FL and Ginger Alvey-Marrers of Greenwood; a brother Clarence Babbitt of Greenwood and five grandchildren. She was a computer programer for the US Army for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic church. The Rev Harold Knueven will conduct a funeral service at 10am, Monday at our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic church. Friends may call from 4 to 9 pm Sunday at Wilson St Pierre Greenwood Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
