She was born on Feb. 3, 1923 to Gustav and Edith (Holtz) Carlson in Duluth.
She was a 1941 graduate of Denfeld High School. Jean was employed by the Duluth School system having been a Teachers Aide at Duluth Central High School and a Health Assistant at Denfeld High School until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Jean enjoyed gardening, traveling and especially dancing. She was also active with her high school reunion committee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Oliver "Ollie" in 1997.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Mel) Kauma of Coon Rapids; two sons, Joel of Duluth and Chris of St. Paul; four grandchildren, Melissa, Olivia, Joanna and Isabella; several nieces and nephews.
Burial at Oneota Cemetery.
