Entered into eternal rest on the morning of February 11, 2012, Adela Holmes Stoney, widow of Randell Croft Stoney, of Charleston, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden Monday, February 13, 2012, at 10:30 am. Private interment at Strawberry Chapel Yard in Berkeley County Monday at 2:00 pm.

Mrs. Stoney was born February 24, 1918 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Major James Hill Holmes, Jr., US Army and the late Anne Adela Folline Holmes. She attended Converse College. Mrs. Stoney was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Junior League of Charleston and Colonial Dames.

She is survived by a son, Randell C. Stoney, Jr. (Martha); a daughter, Jane Stoney Cook, all of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Jane S. Stoney of Charleston; and three grandchildren, Randell C. Stoney, III, Elenore P. Stoney and Charles D. Cook, V. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Adela H. Cook and a brother, Haskell M. Thomas, Jr.
