Mrs. Stoney was born February 24, 1918 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Major James Hill Holmes, Jr., US Army and the late Anne Adela Folline Holmes. She attended Converse College. Mrs. Stoney was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Junior League of Charleston and Colonial Dames.
She is survived by a son, Randell C. Stoney, Jr. (Martha); a daughter, Jane Stoney Cook, all of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Jane S. Stoney of Charleston; and three grandchildren, Randell C. Stoney, III, Elenore P. Stoney and Charles D. Cook, V. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Adela H. Cook and a brother, Haskell M. Thomas, Jr.
