Major League Baseball Player. Born in Longview, Texas, he was a total infielder making his debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 17, 1956. For eight seasons, he played with the Brooklyn Dodgers-Los Angeles Dodgers (1956-61), New York Mets (1962-63) and Cincinnati Reds (1963). He was a Gold Gove recipient (1959), two time All-Star player (1959-69) and a member of the World Series Championship LA Dodgers. He concluded his career with record of 461 runs scored, 858 hits, 87 home runs, 391 runs batted in and a .259 batting average. He died at age 65 in Dallas, Texas.
