THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, December 9, 1998, page 4B: 'Dorothy M. Gurley, 3240 Robin Rd., Paris, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. There will be no funeral service. Her body will be transferred to Southwestern Medical at Dallas for the Willed Body Program.

Mrs. Gurley was born Dec. 27, 1918, in Antlers, Okla., to Clyde B. and Geneva B. Lemons. She married William W. Gurley April 19, 1942, who survives. Also surviving is one son, Robert L. Gurley of Greenville, S.C.

Mrs. Gurley accompanied her husband, a Chief Master Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force, on tours of duty. She was very active in community affairs at each station. In the Azores, Portugal, she was secretary of the NCO Wives Club. While stationed at Randolph AFB, San Antonio, she held several positions with the Wives Club. She was secretary of the Denison, Texas Toastmistress Club while stationed at Perrin AFB and was also editor of the Perrin Parosol, a monthly paper of the Wives Club. She was a charter member of the first Dependents Assistance Program in Austin while stationed at Bergstrom AFB, and held the position of assistant coordinator there. She was also a charter member of Family Services at Lajes AFB, Azores, Portugal, and was publicity chairman there in 1962-63.
