Merle Combs Succumbs After Major Operation

Forest Merle Combs, son of Logan and Ida Combs, was born in Meacham Township, Marion County, Illinois, and passed away August 18, 1934, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Coon Howell, in Clay County, Illinois, aged 33 years, 2 months and 27 days.

He was a member of Farina Lodge No. 601 A. F. & A. M.

He had been in poor health for the past six years and made every effort possible to regain his health. He entered the hospital at Rochester, Minn. The 23rd day of May of the present year and submitted to an operation on the 2nd day of June, but all efforts seemed of no avail.

He leaves to mourn their loss, three brothers Ira, Dewey and Estel; two sisters, Edna and Vena, besides other relations and friends.

The funeral services were Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the Union Church in Meacham township Rev. L. V. Lovell of Salem officiating. Interment was made in the Elder Cemetery under the auspices of Farina Lodge No. 601 A. F. and A. M.
